James B. Pittman, Jr. graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama in 1995 and obtained his J.D. from the University of Alabama in 1998. He has been licensed to practice and has practiced in all Alabama State Courts since 1998.
Mr. Pittman is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He has reported Alabama Supreme Court opinions in Nix v. McElrath (2006), Fogarty v. Parker Poe (2007), and Hoover v. TimberCreek Property Owners Association (2010).
Mr. Pittman’s practice provides a full range of services related to alcohol, tobacco and business licensing matters, including license and site acquisition, license transfers and changes, defense and appeal of licensing violations, responsible vendor training, and tax matters. He handles all aspects of litigation, regulatory matters, and real estate and business transaction services.
He is a member of the Alliance of Alcohol Industry Attorneys and Consultants, National Association of Alcohol Beverages Licensing Attorneys, National Conference of State Liquor Administrators, National Association of Licensing and Compliance Professionals, and Principal and Managing Member of Alcohol Beverage Consultants, LLC.
Jon C. Archer II graduated from the University of Alabama in 2005 with a degree in finance. He obtained his J.D. from Birmingham School of Law, with Honors, in 2012. He has been licensed to practice in the State Courts of Alabama since 2012. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the Baldwin County Bar Association.
Jon also holds an Alabama Real Estate Sales Person’s License and an Alabama General Contractor’s License.
Nicholas Patti helps business owners tackle a wide range of issues, including providing proactive counsel and resolving disputes when they arise. He focuses his practice on contractual disputes, property disputes, products liability claims and construction related claims.
He had a storied run as a linebacker for the Florida State Seminoles. Joining the team as a preferred walk-on, Nick redshirted his first season and was named Defensive and Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Year.
Nick earned varsity letters during his next two seasons before pursuing a career as an attorney. As a certified athlete-agent in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and North Carolina, Nick negotiates player contracts between his clients and third parties throughout the States of Alabama and Florida.
He advises clients on NIL (name, image and likeness) issues, including litigation, the valuation of proposed deals, and evolving regulations and their impacts on the legality of the NIL deals. He monitors new state laws regarding student-athletes’ NIL rights, NCAA rules, and litigation on compensation for former and current student-athletes. He speaks and writes regularly about NIL. His work and articles have attracted national attention.
Shauna has been a paralegal with the firm since 2016. During that time, she has developed close relationships with numerous alcohol licensing and regulatory staff members at the City, County and State levels. She leads the firm’s Responsible Vendor Program. She assists the firm in responding to client inquiries regarding allowable operations, regulatory and administrative rule compliance.
She also handles all of the real estate closings in our office.
